Mike Chearney is known for his passionate works, filled with vibrant color and explosive textures.
Hanging in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Mr. Chearney's works seem to leap from the canvas, as if their own life energy could not be contained.
"Art for me, is a living thing...a moment, a feeling, an experience, captured and forever preserved in the texture and the color of wonderfully sexy malleable acrylic paint. I watch the great moments of my life surface from the subconscious and appear on the canvas more direct, more complex, more fascinating and revealing than I could ever imagine."

Known for their sophisticated color balance and almost sculptural 3-dimensional quality, Mr. Chearney's works reflect a naked primal authenticity, a spontaneous expression and search for truth. "I have never been more sure that there is an energy, a muse, a creative force beyond myself. The paintings seem to just flow thru me. They have an energy of their own, the paint is alive, the canvas is alive, the whole studio is alive with positive chilling energy, and I feel so grateful to be plugged into the current."

Mr. Chearney has been painting since the age of 3, when his grandparents pulled out the coloring books, and encouraged Mike to paint grass blue, sky green, people any color whatsoever, and most importantly to draw outside the lines. This freedom is reflected in his new series of paintings, now featured on the Chearney Gallery website. "I stare at all the paint on my studio walls, the combined experience of so many of my paintings in one room. It actually feels like it is a glimpse of my soul. A song will come to me, a song I will paint to. I must paint to. I put it on, I press the repeat button, and it plays over and over until I am done. I am lost in the studio, the paint, and the music. When I am finished I am covered in paint. And I hate to wash it off."
